Potting:
• 4-5 inch:week 5-16
• basket 8-10inch:weeks 2-6
3 plants per basket

Spacing:

4-5 inch: 25-30 pots/m²

Growing medium: Growing medium with high structure stability and high air volume,
preferably Petunia growing medium pH 5-5,5

Temperature:

heating* ventilation
1st-3rd week 65 °F d+n 68-72 °F
from 4th week 58 °F d+n 61-65 °F
*average temperature during day

Pinching:

One week after potting

Retardants:

0,25% B-nine when shoots reached 1 inch, second treatment is recommended, a third one only if necessary.
Moisten plants slightly only.

Cool morning:

When shoots are 1.5 inch lowering of temperature to 48 °F from 5 a.m. for up to 6 hours. When you use "cool morning", you do not need any growth retardants.

Light:

High demand for light, shading delays flowering and plant development

Irrigation:

cultivate dry to achieve more compact growth and early induction and thus lower demand for growth retardants and higher density per m² is possible

Feeding:

High demand for nutrients. Ensure Fe feeding via irrigation 0.1-0.2% or interval feeding 0.2-0.3%.
1-2x per week feeding with complete fertilizers, e.g. 18-10-18-2.
Start 2 weeks after potting at the latest.

Use growing medium with pH 5-5.5 and sour fertilizer, so that Fe is available (e.g. assure high supply with Ammonium when N is given)

P&D control:

Viruses may appear, ensure hygiene! Watch out for powdery mildew and aphids.

Take measures for plant protection in the morning, so that the plants can dry by the evening.
